PROJECT OVERVIEW
- Website Rebuilding and Optimization: We undertook the rebuilding of a complex and bloated WordPress website, aiming to streamline its functionality and improve user experience. The original site, burdened with excessive coding and an outdated theme, posed challenges for updates and maintenance. Additionally, the implementation of a cumbersome translation plugin hindered ease of use, particularly for updates and modifications.
WEB DEVELOPMENT APPROACH
- Rebuilt the site from the ground up as much of the content was integrated into a translation plugin we eliminated.
- Simplified Structure: Recognizing the need for a functional site with minimal maintenance, we proposed the creation of two simple, practical websites—one in English and one in French. These sites would cater directly to the Union’s primary needs without unnecessary complexities.
- Lightweight Design: In response to the Union’s frustration with ongoing maintenance costs, we opted for a lightweight approach using WordPress default themes. This decision aimed to extend the longevity of the sites while minimizing maintenance expenses.
- Implemented CSS modifications to maintain the visual continuity of the previous site while improving functionality and user experience.
